Outline Mode & Index Cards
Back to Help
Scripped makes it very easy to attach a scene breakdown to your script for the purposes of creating an outline or scene cards. When editing a script, go to the "View" tab and select "Outline Mode".
This will change the view of the script to "Outline Mode" which hides all text save for the scene headings. You will note the scene headings are now highlighted in blue to distinguish Outline Mode editing from normal script editing. Under each scene heading you can now write a scene description. These descriptions can also be edited in the
Script Overview
and are visible in the script viewer by clicking the File tab and selecting "View Script Outline".
To create Scene Cards or "Index Cards" for your script, go to the File tab when viewing or editing your script and find the line that says "Download as Index Cards".
You can then choose whether to print the Scene Description or first few lines of Script Text on the Index Cards. Choose to print standard-sized cards by selecting the
Avery 5388™ 3x5 card.
This selection is made to be printed on that Avery specialty paper which has three 3x5 cards on scored cardstock for easy separation. Or you can print your own arrangement of cards by choosing the number of rows and columns per page. A PDF will be generated with your scene cards to save or print.
